D'Egypte
A popular gardener's variety, particularly well suited for subtropical regions. Roots are flattened globe in shape, dark red in colour, smooth, with purplish red flesh and weigh 100-300 grams. Tops are 32-36 cm high, with attractive glossy green leaves. Matures in 52 days, according to the season, and yields 30-40 tons per ha.
Boltardy
Boltardy is a very popular, bolting resistant variety ideal for early sowings. Producing even sized globe shaped beets with great flavour and excellent quality and texture. Yield is perfect and flesh is free of unsightly rings.
Detroit dark red 2 'Christel'
An all purpose garden beet, well suited for canning and bunching. It has a globular shape and blood red interior. Resistant to Downy Mildew, does well in all kinds of soils. Detroit 2 matures in about 58 days and is well-known as being a consistently high yielder.
